Comstock Heritage Sutro Borelly

Named for the Borelly Comet, a famously odd comet known for its lopsided, bowling pin shaped core—just the sort of thing that appeals to James' appreciation of whimsy and wonder. The buckle's face is a dark sterling silver which beautifully sets off the piece's brilliant comet design, consisting of a .65ct raw diamond slice bordered by gold (14k rose gold, 14k yellow gold, and 18k green gold) and accented by a scattering of brightly faceted white diamonds (1ct+). James used an especially interesting method to lay the gold wires—he first arranged them together and lightly joined them, before then blending them with strikes from a drop hammer.
